Our First Official Bike Ride

Kathryn; or Kat as she has named herself...taught herself how to ride a two-wheeler. Since we live close to her school, she wants to ride there each morning. So I browsed Craigslist and the paper and the local bike shops. I could'nt get myself to spend 300 bucks on a bike...not yet at least. So I found an old, old mountain for $20. I got a new seat and a water bottle holder and we were off. We took our first bike ride to the post office this morning. HOW NERVE RACKING! I thought for sure she was going to get hit. Stop at the corner. Look both ways. Don't drive in a zig-zag. Ride in a straight line. Take the small curb head on...not on a angle. What! A bug in your eye? It was stressful. She loved it though! Thank goodness the school is down one straight street.

Other than our bike week-long hunt for a bike, things are relatively mellow. Geoff is working long hours as it is the growing season. And it's still hot. We like the weather. Hot days (91 today) and really cool nights (60 last night).

Thanks for checking in.
